Secretary Generals
Charlotte Jack – Secretary General
MUN gave me the opportunity to learn and experience the world from a viewpoint entirely different from my own, expanding my knowledge of key global issues and threats to world peace. MUN brings you a wide range of new connections and skills that are highly relevant in today’s society; it gives everyone the chance to express their ideas, thoughts, and perspectives allowing us to work together to negotiate and formulate solutions for everyone. It brought me confidence in public speaking – but also in research skills, general knowledge, teamwork, and leadership. I am so grateful for my experiences with MUN and hope that this conference can go beyond academics and empower us to make a change.
Richard Morris – Secretary General
MUN has allowed me to explore modern international issues in a new light, giving insight into different ways of communicating and tackling difficult issues in a group discussion. Above anything else, I believe it has allowed me to learn to diffuse and bargain with others in a controlled and logical way, a skill that is extremely transferable to real life situations that arise everyday. MUN also provides the chance to lead a group towards a common goal, all whilst creating a positive environment for discussion.

For me, participating in MUN has directly improved my skills in many areas, some which you would not necessarily deduce from the overview of MUN that many people are provided with. My role as a Committee Chair in the 2022 QEGS MUN conference, researching and constructing a study guide and in chairing the Political and Economic Committee, has provided me with enhanced vocational, and social skills and a greater depth of global understanding which has been incredibly valuable to me during my first year of A levels. Ultimately, MUN has brought me so many new experiences and allowed me to access a whole new community of people.
Eliza Mills – Deputy President of GA
Since having first participated in MUN only a short while ago (last year’s conference) I have seen the joy and level of discussion it provokes. With the abundance of opportunities it provides: both short and long term, MUN also comes with challenges. Even in terms of gaining the confidence to speak and also put forward ideas that can be well-suited to the resolution as a whole seemed initially to be insurmountable to me, however it was only through active participation that I accumulated understanding and confidence to try these tasks. Infused with an element of academic stimulation, MUN also provides an amazing insight into the major current events taking place around the world in the present moment, and therefore the unwavering relevance appeals to all with inquisitive minds. The chances for teamwork in crafting resolutions, as well as the element of speaking when you have the floor as a delegate, quickly enabled me to grasp the concepts involved in the conference and gave me a sense of how much power that we can yield through words. I am excited for the new opportunities within MUN and look forward to experiencing new conferences and continuing to be enthralled by others’ ideas.
